After four months on the road, 53 hotels and 21 flights, it is wonderful to unpack, sleep in our own bed, drink directly from the tap, and feel completely safe.
We have enjoyed every country we have visited. It has been fascinating to leave one culture, food, language, sights, people and immediately experience another. The trip has changed us. When I see someone from one of these countries, I instantly want to know more about that person. Each place has its beauty and also dangers. Upon completion, there is nothing we would change about the journey, and are giving it a 95% rating. That said, we missed our family and friends often and longed for that feeling of HOME frequently.
Before leaving Canada, I told a friend that I would be looking for random acts of kindness along the way. Did not think that the most treasured memories would be the daily kindnesses showered upon us on the trek.
We encourage others to see this wondrous world of ours. It is simple, get on a plane, land, and start walking.
Would we do it again? Yes, but I think now is the time to rest and reflect.
We really had the time of our lives! See you on our next adventure!

India - chaotic
Qatar - glitz
South Africa - colourful
United Kingdom - quaint
New York - vibrant

What A Trip!!!
Just read your final blog entry. That was an incredible trip you took. And THANK YOU for taking us along! I so enjoyed ever single place we visited. Your writing was amazing and after each read I felt like I had a real good feel of the place, the people, and the culture. So happy you are back home safe and sound, and none the worse for wear. We will be taking your advise and on retirement get out and travel much more of this wonderous world. Although rather than a blog we may need a help line directly to you.
