The South T5 BA Canteen
Should have gone to Aspire! After a great send off from pub, we travelled seamlessly through T5 and headed to the BA Business Class canteen (sorry lounge, see pic!). An hr delay but once in air well looked after. 12 hrs later and we arrived into the 30 degrees of humid Singapore. Staying in the Fullerton Bay Hotel with great views across the reservoir towards the Marina Bay Sands hotel; an amazing structure with what looks like a ship spanning three towers, but with gardens on top (pic). Almost immediately we were greeted by the evening light show, a spectacular display of all colours of the rainbow, reflecting offf the water and emanating from the rooves of buildings and fountains.
Day 2 took us around the marina to the Marina Bay gardens. You could spend the day (and night) here because when nighttime falls the gardens join in the light show fun.
In the evening we were taken on a safari around the Night Zoo (well worth a visit if with kids). We also were encourages to take a peek at the Buddhist Tooth Relic Temple in China Town.
Today more sightseeing, with a trip up the Marina Bay Sands tower to look
at the views from the gardens.
Next report after our train journey to Bangkok via River Kwai, which starts tomorrow.
Hopefully I will workout how to upload photos. If one blog is enough for you, if you are a subscriber, let me know and I will remove you from the list
