Up early, in a taxi to the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base. This is a large park, with pandas of different age classes in very large enclosures. In the early morning, the cubs were very active, and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing them frolic and play. We enjoyed the opportunities to take lots of photos. The weather was very good, and here in the bamboo forest the thick smog of China was less noticeable. A very reasonable cost - $6 for the 1/2 hour taxi ride, $10 each to get into the park. Then we took a city bus and a taxi back to our hotel zone, with ice cream en route.
