Port Fairy, Warrnambool and the Great Ocean Road
A short time wandering the small harbour showing off both its colonial and modern houses along the river before heading onto Warrnambool and middle island, the setting for the true story movie Oddball in which dogs are used to protect the fairy penguins. A must see for all ages. It's here that I actually remove my footwear to enter the southern ocean to explore the island. The Taylor paparazzi are out in force as I tie my laces together and sling my trainers around my neck.First stop on the GOR is the Bay of islands, followed by the bay of martyrs. Absolutely stunning scenery of nature doing its best at erosion. The colours and textures are breathtaking.Aardvark is the magic word if someone spots a photo op. Unfortunately Robert shouts out avocado and given there is nowhere to turn around we miss out on one of the sites.London bridge and the arch were pretty special followed by a rest stop in the small fishing town of Port Campbell before Jo takes the wheel for the last 100km.New rule just introduced that only the driver and co pilot can make strategic driving decisions

All good and a great day has been had so far.Around 5pm we know we are close to the 12 apostles (now 7) as bus loads of Japanese start to appear. On securing a photo advantage point from these crazed photographers the sight is spectacular, the crashing waves and varying hues of the rock formations that have formed over centuries is a big wow !As we head further south to Apollo bay again the scenery changes once more into towering gum and pine forests.

Sounds like your having fun, our weather has turned cold only 25 today. I'm enjoying your commentary very informative. Also your pics are good.
