Come on
We all saw this one coming. I know its been a while. Sorry about that. But I have been home tending to things and trying to be normal for a while. Unsuccessfully though. So Im off. A buddy of mine is playing for the Cardinals so we just had to come and lend our support. For those of you who are not in the 'know', Im talking about baseball. Its a game that we have here in America that is a take on cricket. Better though. Just because Im home doesnt mean that my feet are nailed to the ground. There are plenty of things that I can do to get myself into trouble while still on US soil.
So Im in St Louis with my brother Matt. Been here a few days and there is too much to do. Base ball games to cheer at, bars to try, soap box races to attend, Mizzu games to tailgate at, etc... You get the jist. Bottom line is; we all get to be here at the world series together. After all I have already taken most of you around Europe and Australia, so hold on for another ride. Its gonna get crazy. I hope. Wouldn't
I feel like Tonto
Even Roy Rogers wants to look like me. want it any other way.
Barely made my flight out from Long Beach (thanks to a ride from Jr). Had a nice flight out. The lady next to me wanted to chat. You all know how much that can be annoying. But I wont get into that again. You know what though, I really didn't mind. She was funny and annoying in an innocent kind of way. So we chatted and talked a bit. I just thought it was funny how the man on my right was annoyed by our conversation as he was trying to read his newspaper. So I just tried to include him to annoy him more. I know. Not the nicest thing to do, but really funny to me for some reason. I digress.
So got into St Louis and Matt picked me up at the airport. Went to the hotel and then straight to the park. Let me just say. This is my first ever World Series that I have personally attended. Love it. All the excitement from the fans and people all over the city. Its undescribable. Upon entering the stadium we were emediately swallowed by a sea of red
Small Misunderstanding
No ocifer, Imnot being drink'n. that is the Cardinal fans. Got in line for my $8 dollar beer and then to our seats. Had an amazing time at the game. The atmosphere is electric. Now its game 5 today and St Louis is winning the series 3-1. Couldn't be better.
Aside from the games, we are trying to take in the sites. I want to go up in the giant Arch here, but the weather is so bad that all I would be able to see is fog and rain. So Im hoping for some good weather to do that. Im also trying to get to the Budwieser factory. After all it was born here and I do like beer. True story. But enough about what I'm trying to do. Lets discuss what I have done. Shall we?
Met with some friends and had some good laughs. We just happen to stay at the hotel where MLB had set up their camp. As did XM Radio and Red Bull for their soap box race which is in town. Needless to say, the lobby is a buzz with all sorts of goings on. There is a table set up with mics so
Hello Mistachio
Now that's a good seat
that the XM people can broadcast from. A Red Bull cooler that is always full for anyone who happens by and needs a pick me up. Too bad I don't like the Red Bull. Had one once on a trip to Mexico. I fell right to sleep. True story; ask Rick. The funniest thing is that almost every time I go downstairs, there is a go cart on a trailer with people checking into the hotel. Some really funny ones too.
But best of all, everyone needs a place to hang out. Where would we be without our local hangouts? At home that's where. So we set out to find one. It ended up being a tossup between Grandmas Politicians Clubhouse and The Atomic Cowboy. Anyhoo, we ended up at the cowboy and it turned out to be a great choice. The entire staff is extremely friendly and they have live bands and DJ's who perform regularly. Not to mention the kitchen staff, like California, is comprised of Mexicans. You know what that means. Some really good food. Turns out they are from Mexico City and make some amazing food not to mention some of the nicest people.
Theres a hair on my beer.
Eveyones on the bandwagon. Feel like Im at home, except for the cold, wet weather.
We happened into a huge college costume party that had some really funny costumes. And they all seemed to be homemade. Great stuff. I was with my friend when we got there and went to show him some photos in mhy camera at the time. For some reason it would not turn on. So I thought maybe the battery was in backwards. No it wasn't. Fact of the matter was, that there was not battery in there. I had left it in the hotel on the charger, because I didn't want it to die in the middle of my night. So I was just left with a hunk of useless metal in my pocket the rest of the night. Really sorry no pictures of that. Good stuff. But its all good and meeting more people everyday. I hope all of you are doing well in all of your perspective homes.
I have a few more places planned for me to visit in the coming weeks, so don't go too far from your computers. Plus I still have to get back to the yU.K. to pick up
Atomic Cowboy Bar
This group looks like trouble. my things that I left there. Im sure it's nice and cold there as well, so this is good practice for me.
