Trogir is a tiny island just along the coast near Split in Croatia. It is a World Heritage site and is full of narrow streets with lots of bars and restaurants and old houses, so a pleasure to meander round. Despite being tiny it has 9 churches and a beautiful cathedral with a magnificent travertine and granite entrance portal with very cute carvings from old and new testament but also weird animals carved using the stone masons imagination. Our guide was a very amusing Croatian guy who pointed out small details on buildings which we would have otherwise missed. At one point we sat in a little loggia which used to be a courthouse and were treated to some Dalmatian singers. Felt guilty about not buying their CD but knew we would never listen to it! An hour and a half was enough to see everything in Trogir which was fine as it was very hot, so it was a pleasure to return to the ship for our preprandials rather than sit in the town. I had forgotten to bring any Kuna anyway.
After our magnificent start on the quiz front we only came third today but a lot more people were playing. That is my excuse anyway!
We have seen two shows which have been the best we have ever seen on board. It is a new British company and they are very good.
The food on board is excellent with totally new menus so you are spoilt for choice. The days are going by very quickly and we havent had time just to sit on the top deck and sunbathe. However it is too hot to stay out for too long anyway.
