Got up at 4.30am and travelled the 35 miles of winding roads to catch the falls at Sunrise. Was the only one there for about 3/4 hr. Just as I was leaving the sun was just hitting the valley with lovely light and I had 2 flat batteries. I also spotted a groundhog. Back on the road and next stop was at The WIld Turkey Distillery in Kentucky. It was a bit cheaper for the tour, and so was the tour. Still enjoyed it and got another tasting at the end of the tour. I think I liked the basic level bourbon than the ones we tested today. From here I went to Staxx BBQ in Frankfort. to try there Ribs. I don't think the Aussie's have anything to worry about if that was there standard fair. Was expecting to be blown over by the reviews I had been getting along the way. I then found my way to Louisville Home of the Kentucky Derby, Louisville Slugger, Tom Sawer and Capital of the State. I wanted to get down to the River bank. So I could say I was Sitting on the bank of the ol Ohio, but it was either full of house frontages or overgrown weeds. And when I got into the town itself they had a toll booth to get through. I drove around the town and got the feeling outsiders are just not welcome. So I left without exploring too much.
