After a crappy night in Catania we were busting to get away to our next stop. We had booked a deluxe room at a resort and spa in Taormina for four nights. This was to be our luxury time and we could laze about for a few days.

Did I mention yesterday that I bought THE BEST PAIR OF BOOTS EVER in France?

Our helpful taxi driver from the night before picked is up mid morning for a 40 minute drive to the resort. The Taormina Riviera is much like the Amalfi coast, although the countryside is very dry. It is hot in Sicily.

We arrive at the resort and are allowed to check in to our Junior Suite on arrival! We have been upgraded to a much bigger room and I lost G for a little while somewhere in the bathroom (it is very big). We have a beautiful terrace overlooking the ocean.

We have already decided we aren't going to do any sightseeing today and tomorrow. We don't have a car for four days which is nice break. After settling in we had a buffet lunch and then spent some time at the pool. I snuck off to the room for a Nanna nap.

Dinner here starts at 8.00pm so we find it a little difficult to eat so late. We enjoyed a drink in the piano bar (singing and being stupid) and then moved on to dinner on the terrace with all of the pensioners. The hotel is full with a tour group and G and I are definitely the youngest here.

After a nice dinner we returned to the piano bar for an aperitif. Plenty of laughs and I do remember I gave the piano player a peck on the cheek before we retired for the night. (G and I that is).

Before bed I looked at my boots again and let G touch them.
