OH MAN! Was the ship rocking during the night. At one point, the closet doors slammed open the light inside came on, then the doors slammed back closed and then back open again. The rocking continued throughout most of the day and we understand that it will be like this all the way across the ocean because there is nothing to stop the waves.
We woke up around 630 and went out on deck. It was grey and cold. Crazy Ric only brought shorts and short sleeve shirts and no jacket. May be interestingâÃÂæ.
Around 8:00 we called the girls to wake them up. Their room doesn't have a clock so they asked us to wake them for breakfast.
Breakfast was in Parrot Cay. Nikki wasnâÃÂÃÂt feeling well from the motion of the ship so she just had ginger ale. The buffet was the same as always but no lychees which is what the girls and I love to have.
After breakfast, Regan wanted to check her email and Kelsie and I went up on deck. The waves in the pool were so extreme that the decks around them were soaking wet.
We had decided to go to the ti leaf lei class. Marcus from Aulani was there and taught us how to take ti leaves and weave them into bracelets. We were all successful in making a bracelet!
After that, Regan and Kelsie went off to see Disney Nature: Chimpanzee and Nikki and I did a little shopping, delivered some gifts and watched a hula lesson take place.
For lunch we went up on deck and had food from PinocchioâÃÂÃÂs Pizzeria, PlutoâÃÂÃÂs Dog House and GoofyâÃÂÃÂs Galley. It was still cold and they had blankets up there for us. The report from the bridge at noon told us that the temperature was 65 it was cloudy and we should expect much of the same the rest of the day (although mid 70s and sunny was the forecast). They expect tomorrow to be in the mid 70s and sunny though.
Lunch was followed by the shopping presentation. Regan and Kelsie have had success winning prizes at these in the past so we went so we could see what we could win. As you may guess, shopping in Hawaii is different than in the Caribbean so there isnâÃÂÃÂt much for
him to tell us to go buy. Regan did win a plastic keychain from Hilo HattieâÃÂÃÂs though.
We then went to the DVC member party (sales pitch) and to Movie Quote Trivia before separating to do our own stuff. Kelsie unpacked, did homework and went for a run. Regan watched a movie and went to the gym and Nikki and I napped.
Tonight was a formal night with the CaptainâÃÂÃÂs Gala in the Lobby Atrium. We had a family photo taken and then one with Mickey in tuxedo and one with Goofy too.
Dinner tonight was in Parrot Cay and was a Taste of California menu that again was unique to this cruise. Regan got a birthday cake in honor of her 18
th birthday which was just a few weeks ago.
The show was Toy Story the Musical which is unique to the Wonder. Nikki and I have seen this show but the girls have not. They enjoyed it. Since I fell asleep during the show I knew I wasnâÃÂÃÂt going to make it to the 10:30 Mike Super show so I headed back to the room for bed.
Regan went to the 18-21 Club Meet which turned out that nobody else showed up to, not even a cruise staff person, before going to the Mike Super show with Nikki. Kelsie went to Vibe and I had a great sleep.
Dinner:
Ric: One of each appetizer! California Rolls, Polenta with Mushroom Ragout, Artichokes, Potato Croquettes, Pork Tenderloin with Sweet Potato Puree, Sweet Temptations
Nikki: Potato Croquettes, Mixed Green Salad with Feta Cheese, Portobello Mushroom Ravioli, Sweet Temptations
Regan: Artichokes, Mixed Green Salad with Feta Cheese, Beef Tenderloin, Sweet Temptations, and Chocoloate Mousse Cake for her birthday!
Kelsie: California Rolls, Roasted Vegetable Soup, Linguine with Sea Bass, Citrus Cheesecake
