Today was a glorious day in Queenstown, NZ. We had the morning off, so I spent my morning sleeping a little later (7am), not having to catch a bus to somewhere, taking a long shower and having a slow breakfast.

Following breakfast I traveled to Queenstown with my travel buddies, Mark and Lee from New York. We scouted out places for dinner and had beer before noon. My kind of day.

In the afternoon we all met for our adventure on the Dart River Jet Boats. Not knowing what this might be like, I was a little apprehensive. But, am I glad I went on this, an adventure that was truly amazing.

We all donned rain ponchos and life preservers, then entered boats that were powered by twin 350hp Chevy engines, which pulled water from under the boat and propelled it out the back with such force they traveled 50mph upstream and 65mph downstream, all while going through narrow rapids of fast rushing water and over small gravel islands. These boats can go over islands with only 4 inches of water. Along the way, they do a complete 360 while spraying water out the side and over all the passengers.

But, most of all today, it was again the scenery that was so spectacular. This was a post card day in southern New Zealand. I will post only a few of the beautiful views that simply jumped from a postcard into my camera. What a spectacular city, beautiful vistas and breathtaking scenery.
