found it!
The Christmas elf had lost his boot, and using numbers from the twelve days of Christmas (in the right order of course) we deduced where it lay. Right first time. Not a wonderful looking day but we had to take Bella for a walk anyway, so we headed north near Oswestry (where we could drop the iPad in to be beaten into submission ) and walked along the canal - where there was plenty of mud as a tractor had been up and down the towpath. Then a spot of caching round the nearby Ironworks, which is like being on safari, only safer! This is a free venue with lots to see. They've had Uri Geller there to make a huge baboon out of spoons collected specially by locals. And now they're co-ordinating a knife collection, taken from street fights I think, and they're being turned into an enormous angel, the blades making the underside of the wings. Then along some very muddy lanes for a few more caches, a quick trip to Sainsburys, collect the iPad and so home for lots of cups of tea!
