Sitting in the living room in Margaret's apartment drinking my coffee, I could hear the waves crashing on the rocks of the break water and watch them spraying into the air. I was waiting to watch the sun rise out of the ocean - just the opposite of our home in British Columbia where the sun sets into the ocean!!
After the sun had risen Dwain and I took a walk along the beach path to join the other early morning walkers, joggers, bike riders and to watch the kayaks, rowboats, fishing boats and surfers and swimmers, all out at the crack of dawn.
On Saturday Margaret took us for a drive around the town of Wollongong and out to the house where I grew up. I rang the doorbell and told the lady who answered who I was and that my maiden name was Lorraine Waters. Immediately she said, "Your father used to own this house!" Turns out her father and my father were good friends and she knew all about me! She was happy to show me around the house and all the changes she had make to the place.
Went to the top of Mt.
Keira to get panoramic views of the Illawarra coast.
Later that day we met with some of my cousins for lunch and a good visit to reminisce on the days of our youth!!
Sunday morning we went to Saint Michael's Anglican church followed by a lunch with all of Margaret's family at the local Golf Club.
That afternoon we were driving up to Sydney to the hotel close to Central station where we spent the night before our train ride from Sydney to Casino, NSW to meet up with Robert and Marge, who would be driving us up to Toowoomba in Queensland.
