Edit Blog Post
I am writing this blog a year after and have to say don't remember all the details but thought I write it anyway briefly the route and let the pictures speak for itself how wonderful and rewarding this hike was.
Starting off from Khorog we need to get to a village up in the mountains called Bachor. Problem is, there was a landslide en route when you take the Pamir highway around Manem village, about an hour from Khorog. So we took a shared minivan to that village, then we have to walk up around the mountains on goat trails, that is dangerously steep and with our 20 plus kgs of backpack is not for the faint of heart. 2 hours to walk to where the army has zodiac boats to get us across to the other side for free, then we have to walk where the vans and taxis awaits people who just cross. It was exhausting! We have to negotiate the fare which was fairy steep considering the situation, in the end we paid $75 to get us to Bachor which took 5 + hours, going up the mountains, it was dark when we got there and

Rickety bridge in Bachor only faint lights illuminate what ended up to be a small village.
We were welcomed heartily by Alik our guide whose family owns the homestay we will spend the night in. We quickly settled and had dinner, our taxi driver spent the night there as well as it is dangerous to go back down in the night, the roads are rough. In the morning we get ready and prepare for our hike. We will have 2 guides and 2 donkeys to carry some of our packs. Intiros is the other guide, we started walking towards the rest of the village, beautiful fields of wheat, intense blue sky follows us. Below is the outline of our intended itinerary and the actual that we did, we have to skip Bardara due to landslide in the Bartang valley.
