This year Dad's birthday fell on the day of the Twenty20 World cup final, and as England were playing and Dad has Skye on the TV, it was felt that a few of us should congregate at his house and watch it together. So a "cricket tea" of sandwiches, scones and birthday cake was taken to Meifod, a bottle of fizzy wine opened, rather earlier than expected but we needed it after England lost early wickets, and an exciting afternoon was had in good company. Shame about the last over.........
Today, Alex, Dad and I went out for lunch and have returned feeling rather full. I'm glad I'm not going out to play bridge tonight!
