30thSlept late after a disturbed night & woke to thick mist & fog which cleared to reveal a beautiful day. We didn't do much – just sat in the sunshine, read our books & Cathy even caught a few zzz's in the chair...

31st A chilly start to the day again & we had a late breakfast then took the bikes out down unexplored lanes & around to the beach then back up the hill home. It got brighter so we walked back down the beach & decided to have moules frites at a lean to cafe opposite run by 3 hippy types, 2 girls & a chap all jolly friendly. The meal was lovely & they used thyme as a seasoning in the moules & on the frites. This was grand at the time but we spent the next few hours with it repeating – just a tad strong perhaps?

1st A fantastic start to the day & forecast. Off on the bikes again to cross the peninsular to Le Loc. Lots of ups & downs & quite steep – we spent quite a fair time walking! The bay was very rocky with oyster farms dotted around with one boat working. The rocks were covered in oysters, so we opened four to see if we could find the black pearl to no avail, but the seagull that followed us enjoyed a hearty meal. Opposite was a naval college with at least 3 vessels at anchor & some helicopters flying about which we see over the camp site quite frequently. We got back quite weary, had a very late lunch & decided that as it was still very warm we walked down to the beach again. What an exhausting day...

2nd We'd booked the 'mixte' hairdressers again today at 4pm so it was a day for shopping, a trip out & then haircuts. Off to the hypermarket in Crozon first for stuff then off to another beauty spot as it's turns out, Pointe de Dinan which was beautiful. The paths were restricted to allow the natural plants to regrow – heathers, low spreading gorse etc – just smashing & looked like a multi- coloured sculpted rug. From one point on the path we were able to see an arch that we had seen from across the bay the week before, a bit like Durdle Door. We took another path to the beach to see the rock formations, just amazing.

Back for jolly good haircuts, with Cathy's twice as much as mine again– I guess it's justified as I didn't have putty (whatever that is) or hairspray....

We'd seen a big sports place on the way out of the hypermarket so we nipped back for me look for new sandals as mine that are nearing the end but didn't find any to fit but did see an inflatable canoe that took our fancy, like the ones I'd looked at on the interweb the other week...maybe sell the motorbike next spring...
