Lines of people going to the Muster
We had our week at home organising our lives, and have been spending time back at Tewantin and Noosa enjoying all that the area has to offer.

We were watching the TV weather girl at the Gympie Muster this morning. It's actually the Gympie Music Muster, held in the Amamoor State Forest. We drove into the forest one year to see what the area was like but we've never been when the Muster is on, mostly because it's crowded! Anyway, we got interested and decided to drive into the area at least to 'get the vibe'. It's very pretty countryside along the Mary River Valley. We drove on and on along the narrow bitumen road, and as we drove further towards the forest, more and more traffic built up behind us or took the usual risks to get ahead of that motor home! It was a bit hairy and endless. There was a lot of wood sold along the way, I suppose for fires for cooking in the forest. I don't think there are a lot of amenities.

We felt we'd gone quite a long way, heavier traffic, so turned around and let them go. We've actually only done about 9 klms but it was a very busy 9 klms! We wouldn't have a hope of getting in, only those who have booked are allowed, and we could imagine the mud after the shower the previous evening. We enjoy country music but I think it will be very crowded, not many home comforts and the drink and bars people have been building there may be a promise of things to come. Still, to each his own, one day we might get to experience it all.

Instead we drove further along the Mary Valley. We usually drive from Eumundi to Kenilworth but this was a different road, no less pretty and rural. We did the usual stop at the Kenilworth Cheese Factory and then drove on to Maleny at the top of the Blackall Range. I like Maleny, it was Friday afternoon so busy so we just drove around, having a look, then drove through Montville and Mapleton then down the steep hill to Nambour.

We decided we'd have a quick trip to the Ginger Factory at Yandina, always a stop for us as Doug likes ginger. After he'd bought it and some ginger marmalade, we had afternoon tea and then drove home. About 250 kilometres driven today. The cloudy morning had given way to sunny skies so here's hoping the good weather continues.

Nice!
We, too, are taking a trip. Ours is with Fantasy...a tour from Ottawa, Ontario through Quebec & the Gaspe Peninsula & into New Brunswick, ending in Maine. It's good so far, pretty country, not too much rain.
