The whole team were up in time for breakfast at 6.50am so that we could be at Grace School for assembly - today we joined the seniors (ages 10-14 approx.) After the assembly, Frances went off to teach Grade 6 a science lesson all about energy transformations, Rob and Tim went off to the new (built just after we were here in 2012) DIY store where they bought paint and wood and various supplies for DIY projects at the school, Eva/Suzy/Amy returned to our base to meet with Vimbai and to catalogue the new library books that we have brought from the UK.
Rob & Tim returned to the school at 10.45am and began sanding the playground equipment, ready for a white undercoat. They were joined by the rest of the team except for Frances who was assisting with a Grade 8 and a Grade 7 class, then she taught a Grade 4, a Grade 5 and Grade 6 class (what a busy day)! By the end of the school day (2.30pm) most of the playground equipment had received an undercoat; but our painting projects had not been completed, after school we trained up 6 boy boarders who painted the
office in the FET buildings. The cream emulsion paint was a little thinner than we have in the UK, so we suspect we'll need another coat tomorrow afternoon.
Whilst in the DIY store we bought wood and a very sharp circular saw - the hope is to construct a number of wooden benches which can be placed in the new garden in the school grounds. By the time we had finished our evening meal it was dark - so the bench making will have to wait!

Busy day
Wow, well done! Hope you still have some energy tomorrow after a busy day today. Frances must be exhausted after teaching new classes all day long!
