Here I am at last......WOW, what can I say. If you all thought I was obssesed about Santorini before I left NZ you will be worried to hear that now that I am here I am even more obssesed.

So much to say, so little time. Most of it will have to wait I think until I get back home.

My expectations were huge for this place and they have been met and then some. I love it immensly. I don't want to come home..........but don't worry Dad I will!!

Have met wonderful people at hotel, girls from UK and USA. Have been out hooning around in an open top jeep thing to the famous Red Beach and winery. Dancing the night away on Saturday night. Even got to wear my good Ceroc skirt and shoes and danced with a wonderful Yank who knew Cha Cha Cha and something else........all very similar to Ceroc. ALso met another crazy Italian guy, hunk of course, who could dance fantastically and didn't mind dancing with me. God I love the Italians!!!!!!

Got taken out last night by a local Santorini man and his friends for dinner overlooking the Caldera and then out clubbing. I was coming back home after taking photos of the sunset and all of a sudden decided to ask at the motorbike hire shop if the two proper motorbikes out the front were also for hire.... mostly here they hire out scooters, not proper motorbikes. The man couldn't believe I had my motorbike licence and was from NZ. We chatted then he asked me to accompany him and his friends out to dinner. I thought, why not?
It was all totally wonderful. He ordered all the food for me saying, trust me Dee. So I did and he was right. Spectacular food. And, You haven't lived until you have roared through the streets of Santorini at night on the back of a powerful scooter (motorbike) with no helmet on.

People warned me that Greek men were very different to NZ men, that they were pushy and wouldn't take no for an answer. The Greek men I have met are not like that at all. They are wonderful and perfect gentleman. Like my new friend from last night.

I am going to stay for just about my whole time left in Greece here on Santorini. I am scared I won't see it all in the time I have. I wander around going down every path and exploring every nook and cranny. I also go to the small towns close to where I am staying and see the local people going about their business. I like getting off the normal tourist paths.

I stumbled across a tiny church in the middle of no where and two old ladies were there. They couldn't speak a single word of English, and I only know about 4 words of Greek. Yet they brought me cold drinks and opened up the church specially for me to look inside. I have photos. They were just wonderful!

Today is going to be hot my motorbike friend has just told me so I think I will get washing done. And then get the bus to Oia. I went there the other night with my girlfriends from the hotel and we wandered around at sunset but the light was pretty shit so I didn't take many photos.

More later......
