I know it has been a few days, so let me catch you up on our travels. Due to limited or no WiFi, I will post as I can.

We left Ft Nelson on Wednesday morning and drove to our next campground in Muncho Lake. It was approximately 160 miles, but took a while due to mountain roads and plenty of road construction. By road construction, it means miles of single lane bumpy and dusty roads all being torn up. Just when I didn't think our car or camper could get any dirtier ... wow! While we waited, we talked of the trips that George and Helen made here before the highway was paved. The bumps and dust must have been unbelievable. In comparison, our trip is nothing I should complain about.

We stopped at a little restaurant along the way called the Toad River Lodge. On the outside, it reminded me of an old, kind of run down truck stop tucked away in nowhere land. These places are definitely something you need to watch for, as their signs give very little advance notice. The reason for the stop was to see their unique cap collection. It seems years ago a young soldier stepped outside of the bar for a few minutes, but left his cap sitting on the bar. While gone, a friend nailed it to the wall .... and this started their collection of caps being left and hung everywhere inside this restaurant. We had decided this would be a perfect place to leave a Gooch's cap. Jim signed the hat with our names, registered it in their collection as cap #10,075, and stapled it to the wall. It was kind of a fun thing to do, but next time we go to Gooch's, Jim needs a new hat!

After a piece of homemade pie, we were back on the road toward our next campground. This one would have us all parked almost lakeside in a quaint little setting, surrounded by mountain views. We had our travel meeting, and then we were treated to a cookout of brats and hot dogs, followed by some social time with the group.
