Edit Blog Post
Amazing, it is six months since my last blog and hard to believe that it has taken me so long to, once more, put words to type. Working full time again certainly makes time fly by exceptionally fast but I think maybe it helps that I am still enjoying my job as assistant manager at the book store. The job as manager did arise but I turned it down as I am happy to just cruise these days and leave the responsibility to someone else. Pete has been working in Darwin and also WA as a fly in fly out sheetmetal fabricator and cryogenic insulator (ability to work on hot and cold pipes) and is currently back working in Darwin at the Gas Plant here and still making ridiculously high wages so we are certainly not complaining. However, next year we definitely intend to stop work to travel around Europe and will not be postponing our trip again. We so miss not being on the road and free camping around Australia but with the end in sight we are happy to continue with our life in Darwin. We are still having a wonderful time living in the caravan park and enjoying
our happy hours most nights with our fellow campers. The 25th July will see us sharing a mid winter Christmas party and I am sure we will all have a ball what with a funny present swap and delicious food, not forgetting a drink or two.
We had a wonderful time back in NZ earlier in the year visiting friends and family and enjoyed being on NZ soil once more. Pete during his sporadic time out of work visited friends in Queensland and our daughters in WA so what with his trip to WA for work also plus a week we spent in Bali recently he has certainly been on several planes so far this year.
Tessa has recently landed a job at the Northern Territory Wildlife Park, working with native birds of prey and now lives just a half hour drive from us which is great as we will be able to see more of her. One off spring out of three close by ain't bad!
Pete and I have been to watch a few games of AFL. Australian Football League, at the nearby stadium to support the local NT Thunders team. The game that we
used to call aerial ping pong and that we could never quite understand is actually quite exciting and great to watch live especially up here in the Territory. During the three intervals they have between the game everyone is encouraged to hop over the fence and run on the field to practice their football skills which is great to watch. Not so down south but up here it is very casual and gives the game atmosphere and bonding.
We took the motorhome out for a run a few weeks ago to a beach resort about 90 minutes south of Darwin called Crab Claw where we enjoyed a swim in the pool there plus local Barramundi fish and chips. Fantastic spot and one we will visit again as soon we will be under cover again and ready once more for the commencement of the wet season in September.
Future tentative plans are to visit Europe in September/October next year, back to NZ for 6 months and then back to Australia at this stage before exploring the US.
I will try not to take so long with my next blog.

What a Life!
Hi Suzanne and Pete, Great to hear from you again and what a marvellous life you are having! I am so pleased that your travelling is working out so well and see that your horizons are continually expanding!!! Great stuff Kiwis!. I will be in NZ in September and October this year, back to Oz for Christmas, rather playing ping pong across the ditch for the moment! But would love to spend 6months or so in the UK. Maybe next year!! Take care of yourselves, hope to see you again sometime and anywhere, in the not too distant future. Love from Kyra
