It was a long drive up through Maine and across the boarder into Canada. As we arrived at Campbello, the summer home of the Roosevelts, it was pouring down rain. As we registered, the Ranger asked us if we would like to have Tea with Eleanor at 3 PM? We agreed and smiled not knowing what was to come? We toured the Visitors Center ...then made our way to the proper building hopping over puddles. We entered a lovely dining room all set for a formal tea for 16 people. Then an absolutely wonderful tea party began. The two guides alternated between serving and speaking about Eleanor. Eleanor was an absolutely astounding woman...well ahead of her time. The gals were full of information and stories. This was a a true highlight of our trip. The staff of the International Park of Campbello is to be commended for an outstanding and gracious presentation all about Eleanor!
