Morning everyone, we are now staying with Chris and his wife Rosie in Adelaide, yesterday after we visited a couple of wineries in McLaren Vale, one called Serafino which looked to me like a place in Tuscany as the driveway was lined with conifer trees, I did my wine tasting and then we drove the 26 km tourist drive of wineries in the area stopping off at Chapel Hill winery which again had beautiful views across the vineyards. We have never been to wineries in the autumn and the colours were spectacular, all golds and reds, even though it was chilly and rainey outside, the scenery was still very beautiful. Whilst in McLaren Vale town we had lunch in an old railway carriage, which was quaint and then made our way to Victor Harbour down by the sea. We were able to have a walk around there before it got dark, then it poured with rain and the last time I blogged was when we found wi fi sat in the car, NOT fun !!. Still we had a good sleep, 10 hours solid we slept for, woke up and went back down to Victor Harbour and had breakfast. It is a pretty place, very quiet when we were there as its out of season, they have huge horses pulling the old trams, not sure if I think that's good, it looks hard work for the poor old things, they didn't look like they were having a whale of a time, dragging a bunch of tourists along !! They have beautiful pine trees all along the beach which were planted in memory of the soldiers killed in the First World War, they also have a whale centre there and on their daily blackboard outside it said 'The Whales are arriving shortly, Whale season starts June 1st'. Would you believe it, we're be back in the UK by then !! Anyway moving on from Whales, we then took a nice scenic drive to a place called Hahndorf, which is a pretty little German town, well when I arrived I thought I was in Germany, the shops are German and music being played was German. This was the first place German settlers made their home when they arrived in Australia off the boat. The little high street was lined with trees, leaves fallen off, some left with stunning colours on them, yep it was pouring buckets again, we went into a little cafe and had tea and apple strudel, very delicious, won't be savouring that sort of thing when I come home !! Celery stick and an apple for me !! Even Stu's complaining, he's put on weight. I said make the most of it here Stu, have what you want cos it won't be in the house when we are at home. So after Hahndorf we drove into Adelaide, by then the weather is truly bad, misty and raining, Stu said 'shall we go up to Mount Lofty, I said 'what's the point unless I want to look at fog' !! No thanks! We then drove into the city, met Chris after work who took us back to their place where Rosie made us a lovely Italian meal. It was delicious, Rosie is Italian/Australian, Chris met her whilst he came out to Adelaide years ago, Stu knows Chris through his friend Steve, so everyone knows everyone !!

I am doing a charity fundraiser today, don't know if you remember I did it last year,Brides in the Aisles, trying to break a Guiness world record by getting as many people in wedding dresses together in one place, even if they don't break the record it will be a giggle and raising money for a worthy cause.
