Today we are taken by coach to visit one of the highlights of the trip - The Great Wall of China. The weather is perfect - clear blue sky and just a slight breeze.
The wall is 5660km in length and took 2000 years to complete .
The section we visited is at Badaling and our guide advises us it is surprisingly quiet for the time of year it is a drive of 60km from Beijing.
A cable car delivers visitors from the valley to a station a short climb from the wall.
Watchtowers and battlements can be seen and the wall walked. It stands at an average of 7.8m and is surprisingly wide at about 4m.
After lunch we head back to Beijing and dinner the speciality of Peking duck.
