Today we left Madrid. It is sad, right. We took an hour drive to Segovia. The first thing that we saw was an aqueduct built in the first century! It was very big and you can tell it was built a long time ago because the bricks on it looked very old. We were very hungry so we ate a kinda big snack at this really good place. I had a shawarma with really good fries and my dad and Ania had pizza. Right after that we met my Dad's friend, Rich, and his two daughters. We then walked up a lot of stairs to get to a big church It was very big inside and had lots of colors.
Next, we walked to the Segovia Castle It had a large mote around it but not filled with water. The view was really nice. Inside the castle, there was knight armor and horse armor. There were many paintings and stained glass. There were many large windows to sit next to and enjoy the view. We also saw rooms with their weapons, their bedrooms and a whole bunch of other things. Finally, we climbed about like 150 steps to
get to the very top of the castle.
After the castle in Segovia, we drove to our awesomeness hotel which was a real castle that queens and kings actually lived in. It was on the very top of a hill. We just checked in a looking at the room which was incredible. There was a window which had an amazing view. There was a beautiful red couch and a comfortable big bed. Before we settled in, we went to one wine tasting. It was called
Bodegas Rodero and we met Rich there. My dad said the wine was good. We then stopped of at a store to get some food and went back to the hotel.
The next day, we had a full day of wine tasting, or wine smelling in my case. We had a driver for the day who was really nice. Our first stop was actually my favorite called
Pago de Carraovejas . After the tour we went into a room with an amazing view of the castle . I got served fresh orange juice, cookies and chips. It was yummy. We stayed there almost 2 hours and we had fun taking pictures of the castle and winery.
Because we stayed there so long, the driver went and bought us sandwiches so we can make it to our next winery on time.
The second winery was called
Legaris . We could only stay there a short period of time. I had wine, aka grape juice. We then left for the final place.
The last place was called
Pago de los Cappellanes. The place was very big. The first thing we did was watch a movie on how the wine starts out and picking the grapes. The adults drank the wine near the entrance and where there was an amazing view of the vineyards. I took a lot of pictures with my dad's camera because I was bored. Then the owner came out and talked to us and we took pictures with him.
We went back to the hotel and chilaxed. We ate dinner in the castle (our hotel). It was very good. Ania had fish and my dad and I had steak, and Rich had a salad. His 2 daughters were going to eat dinner later.
We went back to the room and I told my dad to try to make Ania and I laugh. Oh My
God, he was horrible at making us laugh
My dad was the king and Ania was the Queen. I was actually the joker, I mean why would I be a princess....I am not that type of person. I had to take place of my dad's horribleness, and I made them laugh so hard. It was a lot of fun.
We left our castle in the morning. We were off to Portugal but first we stopped at one short amount of time winery. It was called Numanthia . AFter an hours or so of wine tasting (or wine smelling for me) we left Rich and his daughters and we took off for Portugal. Adios Espana. Oi Portugal.
