Staying at Berkeley was not complete without stepping into the University grounds. We decided to do just that today.

I accompanied R to his campus before we went off separate ways for the rest of the day. The sprawling school compound was well-dotted with giant oak trees and well-designed buildings. Walking was very possible under the pleasant weather. As the term break was drawing to a close, students from all nationalities were returning back to school in preparation for the new semester ahead.

From the University, I chanced upon a breakfast place that was run by a friendly Korean couple. I ordered the daily breakfast set that comprised of rosti, toast and eggs which turned out pretty well. It also came with freshly brewed coffee and juices. With not much of an itinerary for the rest of the day, I decided to do a brief visit to the city of Oakland before returning to my Soloma neighbourhood in the evening.

At night, R came home and brought me to the Lion Rock where fine views of the city could be had. This was a short walk from where we stayed at Los Angeles Avenue. We had to cut our journey short as I was heading out again tomorrow morning. This time to the City of Angels - Los Angeles.

UC Berkeley Graduations - 2016
I attended the high school commencement of Berkeley High School on June 17, 2016. Over 825 were in the graduating class - the largest in history. It was held at the UC Berkeley Greek Theater that also holds more than 8,000 in attendance. Photos are available online via their Flicka site. Google: "Berkeley High School Commencement, California"
