Spring Break yay! I cant wait to go to Spain and Portugal with my dad and his girlfriend, Ania. Unfortunately, she comes 2 days after us but that is okay. My dad and I had a connecting flight. We had to stop in Dallas, Texas. I was a 2 hour flight, not too bad. But then the plane to Spain....it was 9 HOURS and it was without TVs! I mean, who does that???

One reason I was excited about going to Spain was that my friend who used to go to my school (1st grade) lives in Madrid, Spain. Her name is Ana. I have not seen her for almost 3 years. The very last time I saw her was at my 7 year old birthday party. I gave her a big hug after the party but knew I would see her again.

When we got to Spain we had to exchange US dollars to Euro. We took a taxi to our hostel . The cool thing about our hostel was that the key to our room was our thumbs. So when we checked in we had to scan our thumb fingerprint. When we go to the room there was a place to put our thumbs and open the door. The first day in Spain my dad and I walked around the plazas near our hotel. We also went to this ham place called Museo de Jamon . It was awesome. Then we went to the hotel to play games. We played monopoly, pool and to end the night we played scrabble. Then went to sleep.

The next day we went to the metro to go to a church. The church was really pretty. It was painted by a guy name Goya. Next we went to the Real Madrid Soccer Stadium. I like Barcelona team better, but it was still fun. My favorite thing was taking a photoshopped picture with Cristiano Ronaldo!!! It was so FUN. In the stadium we also saw the massage room, showers, and locker room. Then we saw were the players sit down when they do not play. It was awesome. After going to the cool museum, I liked Real Madrid more, but not as much as I like Barcelona....because duhh, Because Barcelona has Neymar. I looooovvvvvveeeeeeeee Neymar.

Finally after the stadium we saw Ana!!! I haven't seen her in such a long time. It was awesome. At their apartment, which was really pretty, we talked about my dad's engagement plans with Ania. We also saw her Brother, Pablo and her mom and dad. After that we went to a chocolate and churros place . It was so yummy. Then we went to the hotel to sleep.

Daddy's Comments: Awesome start to our trip. Part of the fun was going to some plazas to plan were I would propose to Ania. Love that Sofia was involved. We found our place, Plaza Mayor, and a waiter who would help, Javier. I was very impressed with the Real Madrid museum at Bernbau . The videos of the older teams and competitions were really put together in a fantastic way . While I, like Sofia, consider myself a Barca fan, the team I really enjoyed the Real Madrid team of the early 2000s with Ronaldo, Figo, Roberto Carlos, Raul, etc. Meeting Nacho for the first time, as well as reconnecting with Maite, Ana and Pablo was great. They also helped with the engagement planning and we had great wine, cheese, and other food at their apartment in the city. I was looking forward to them being part of a special day.

We've watched Sofia grow up in front of our eyes. Amazing how much she has changed. Enjoy Spain.
