Creek meets creek.
Thought this was a 'grey water' creek from Ranch...its is Hot mineral water from a hot spring. 9/02/06 Saturday Day 2 at Hacienda Guachipelin (the Ranch) last day
Again, little sleep, lots of interruptions, up before 06:00!
Yup, again woke up just after twilight, very cool, I guessed @73F. Refreshing, no prevailing smells!
So off I go.....just outside the entrance I found the sign: "Lookout Poiint"....up the trail.
COOL! Its a stucco 'rancho' with electricity and a banjo (bathroom) up on a knoll that is higher than the Ranch.
Looks out over the forrest with an excellent view of the mountains, particularly, Rincon.
OK, so I got pics on previous blog from this adventure, sue me!
Lots of clouds coming from the Carribean side, clear towards the Pacific.
There is a plaque embedded in the post says to the effect, the Electrical Society Association errected the building in 1997. (looks less than a year old)
Saw a SQUIRREL! A grey, fast moving, but definitely a squirrel. So I can't spell, sue me.
Time to go back for breakfast, timming also, IMPECCABLE!
More eggs today, no pancakes.....NO MORE SUGAR! Got to conserve the Alieve!
Gotta go, time to pak it up and head up the road to Rincon de la Vieja Lodge. $5.00 ride
Locals in pool at Ranch
Yes, these are local kids on a school field trip. Next group was High schoolers. to go 5 km. from the staff transport bus.
Rincon De La Vieja
OK then! I got to the destination, Rincon de la Vieja Lodge. Another old ranch turned tourist trap. Lots of open space here, horses, MORE yard geese!
Poor reception, owners are assumedly absent, as the staff does not care how they are dressed, nor do they appreciate tourists that don't speak the language.
Their advertised pictures on this website.....

So, its midday and the hammok is waiting for me.
NOTE: The Ranch and Rincon Lodge both take tourists on their OWN property, not in the parks. These are 'private reserves'. One has to leave the 'hotel' and pay to get in the park, then hike for at least 2hrs to get to any attraction.
another day coming.
