Hi friends!
Today I write this blog post with much anticipation, nervousness and excitement. I leave tomorrow and I cannot be more thrilled to start my kiwi adventure. For those unfamiliar with NZ slang, I will be using the word "kiwi" frequently to refer to NZ. The word comes from the national bird, perhaps the famous fruit as well, and over time has been used as a self-reference nickname for the residents of New Zealand. So, back to my nervousness, yes I'm very nervous but it's that exciting kind of feeling because I know this is going to be an adventure of a lifetime! I hope I'm able to grow immensely from this experience and learn all that I'm able to in half a year about the NZ culture and lifestyle. But….more about that learning and growing later! For now, my bags are packed, my passport is in my hand and I'm ready to GO!
