The first stage of upgrading the Troopy was to have the car converted into a pop top camper. This meant the car roof needed to be cut off and then replaced with a fibreglass roof that has an inbuilt tent system. This was a hard decision to make at the time but has proven to be very convenient and particularly for the upcoming trip to the Cape.
