On my previous blog post I didn't really have time to explain what we did later on the day as I knew we wouldn't have any time. I was kind of sick of Buenos Aires to be honest as it just seemed like another city with little culture compared to other stuff I had seen on the trip. I was very keen to move on to the next city as I thought I had seen all that I could. But finally last night we got to experience some of the rich culture of Buenos Aires. We went to a Tango show where we watched professionals dance and then later we had a Tango lesson. I was slightly nervous add I have two left feet, but I didn't manage to trip, fall or die and I actually ended up enjoying it. The next day we also got to see a different view of Buenos Aires. We went to a farm and watched a Polo game, the horses were beautiful but they have to keep changing them around as they can get too worn and overheat and could die, so they keep an eye on the horses very carefully. It's a rich people's game and only people with millions of dollars could ever get into the sport. Nevertheless all of our contiki group gave it a go and we managed to get a few goals. My horse was ultra slow though so I couldn't contribute much to the game. One guy got a bit cocky and decided to get his horse to run, but he ended up flying off the horse in a superman pose. It was the funniest thing ever! After our polo game we relaxed on the ranch for a while then went back to the city. Later that night I had the best food experience I have ever had! We went out for dinner, but we made some of our food and learnt the history about it. We made empanadas which is like this pastry thing with filling (either beef, chicken etc). Then we had a competition for the most creative empanada and I won! I made an empanada in the shape of a kiwi! It was the best feeling ever, not just because I won, but because I could tell all the Auzzies they were beaten by a kiwi......literally (and there are lots of Auzzies on this trip). Today we left Buenos Aires and flew to Iguassu Falls where we went to the Brazillian side and walked around the falls. The falls are magnificent! I also took a helicopter ride to see it from a birds eye view and it was still huge! After we went out for dinner and saw a show on the history of South American dancing including the samba. It had been a few full on days lately so have to Hey some sleep! (Oh and now I'm in a country that speaks Portuguese so will have to learn some more words! ).
