One may wonder how this all started, why would you take a 3 month old baby to Vegas in July? It all began back in October when my SIL asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. As the months grew closer to planning the bridal shower and bachelorette weekend the choices were one weekend in May or one weekend in July. I was neutral to either weekend but preferred July since our due date was April 11th. There are 7 bridesmaids and many friends invited so I wasn't going to be the one to rock the boat as that isn't my style. I knew I wanted to breastfeed and didn't see it possible leaving our little baby for a weekend in Vegas but was trying my best as we lived in So Cal, SIL lived in OR and bachelorette weekend was in Vegas which was within driving distance from So Cal.

Our son was born April 2nd and the bachelorette weekend was chosen to be July 11-13th. I thought it would be ready for time away by then but when the weekend approached I was no way ready to leave our baby boy. Three days before

It was triple digits in Vegas so they needed to cool off somehow
the event I found a one bedroom condo on Airbnb that was within our price range and distance to the Aria Resort & Casino, where the rest of the party attendees were staying. I booked it and we were on our way.

We left later than I wished (I like to be 15 minutes early to everything and my husband is typically showing up umm late) and with Friday traffic it took us an hour to drive up the Cajon Pass along I-15. The total drive was 5 hours there, we made no additional stops than our usual. We were able to do this as my husband fed Bennett a bottle in the car when he was hungry.

We met up with the Bachelorette group at Cosmopolitan Resort as two of the ladies were staying there. Bennett was tired as it was his bedtime and was scared by the 6 ladies in bright pink wigs. Needless to say they all loved our little boy. We had drinks in the suite, ventured down to the Chandelier Bar for champagne and ate dinner tapas style at Jaleo. It was fun to spend time with the ladies

but I was ready when my husband and son picked me up later in the evening.

Saturday, was a great day spending the majority of the afternoon at the cabana, swimming and lounging around with the ladies, my husband and son. The cabana provided the much needed relief from the hot sun of the July heat in Vegas. Later that evening us ladies got showered, dressed and went to Fix at the Bellagio for dinner and drinks. Then my hubby & son met up with us and we headed back to our Airbnb condo.

Sunday, we took our son over to my husband's aunt's home so she could meet Bennett for the first time. Then we hit up the Aria pool one last time with two friends who were flying out later that evening. It was another great day in the pool as Bennett really enjoyed himself. We were able to shower in the pool bathrooms, eat some Prime Rib before stopping at the Famous Las Vegas sign.

As many times as I have been to Vegas I have never been to the sign and we figured since it was our first time as a family that we should get our picture. We waited our turn as many of others had the same idea on Sunday evening. My husband picks up our son from his car seat carrier and he had a MASSIVE diaper explosion in the 15 minutes from the restaurant to the sign. He put him back in the car seat and it was EVERYWHERE. My husband wanted to leave and not get the picture. But I really wanted the shot. We went back to the car area, laid down our son on the diaper mat on the sidewalk and proceeded to throw away his clothes, clean him & the car seat up and put on a new outfit. To give you an idea how bad it was we almost used up an entire pack of wipes and it took all of our patience as we both wished we had access to a shower or sink to clean everything up. When you become a parent you learn to make do with what you have and make the best of it. Ladies & Gents, this clean up was so bad that I almost cried and wanted to go straight to

a store to buy a new car seat and I am a frugal person.

Needless to say we got our family photo and had a good 5 hour drive back with a stop at In N Out in Barstow, CA. It was a great trip and glad that we were able to hang out with my SIL and her bridal party.

Travel with the baby :)
We took our little Liam to Croatia and CA when he was 10 months old. He did breast! And we saved money by having him on our lap
