Three airports, 24 hours one tired girl ;)

Didn't get much sleep tossing and turning in Anna's bed. I wasn't accustom to the sounds of the farm plus I had got quite use to my bunkie and I couldn't read myself to sleep for the tears. Woke at 1am, saw every half hour until 3am then got up.

Dressed, had my cold coffee, packed and woke Andy and Gry at 3:30am. Ran down and said goodbye to Thea, hugs to Gry and I was off as fast as I could with the lump in my throat and the tears filling my eyes. Wow, didn't know I was going to become so attached!

Andy and I drove to the airport and the sun started to come up as we approached the Oslo airport. We talked about his business in a China which was a safe, neutral topic that he didn't have to deal with a stupid crying sister all the way to Oslo.

Andy parked the car and walked me to the gates, I didn't want to leave.......it sucked! I cried my way all the way to my boarding gate. Security didn't even bother too much with me except to throw out my yogurt I had packed for my breakfast 😞

Spent my time at the airport calling my bank and cell phone company as neither my cell phone (for calls) nor my bank card were working. Got it sorted out and boarded the plane at 7:15am

Flight to Munchen, Germany was not full so I had absolutely no one beside me! All three seats to myself. Unfortunately, only one row back, five woman and a child were celebrating something and their conversations resonated over the entire plane. Lunch was some kind of unidentifiable wrap I didn't eat .... Head phones in, sat back and blogged my way to Munchen listening to old Katie Perry and Avril Lavigne songs (Give me a break, that's all I have downloaded thanks to my students four years ago. Gry was suppose to give me some music from hers but we ran short of time.).

Once in Munich 9:55am, I had some time to get some duty free shopping done then I grabbed myself a latte frappe and found a quiet spot to do some blogging.

Boarded the plane at 12pm. It was a a bit smaller then the one I took from Toronto to Germany, I think. There were two seats on each side of the plane and four down the middle. As I approached my seat, I could see a couple sitting there. I double checked my ticket and yes they were. "Excuse me I think this is my seat", I said, hoping they spoke english. The man looked at the woman, looked at me, looked at the seat and said, "what the f**k". I then knew I was on the way to Canada. They got out and I settled in. Shortly behind me Ashina joined me in seat 24E. Ashina is a third year arts student at Ryerson University in Toronto. She was just getting back from visiting her home and family in Delhi, India. Her English was impeccable and i was later told that she spoke better English then Hindu as she attended English speaking schools and her parents spoke English to her growing up. She's a resident don at Ryerson and intends to stay in Canada to get a masters in International studies at Carlton University. Her plans from there she wasn't sure of but thought she would return to Delhi later. "I will go wherever the best job is as I like both Canada and Delhi equally"' she said. We chatted throughout the flight about politics, travel, cultures and schools. She was an interesting young girl of 21 years old.

We had an early dinner then a snack towards the end of the flight. I can confidently say now that I prefer Lufthansa to SAS or Swiss.

I wasn't able to sleep so I watched old episodes of Rosanne, Three and a Half Men, Big Bang Theory and a movie called The Physician. Great movie based on a novel I had read years ago by Noah Gordon. it is about an orphan from 11th-century English town whose mother died of a mysterious illness. The boy vows to study medicine and decides to travel to Persia to become a physician. I won't spoil it for others. Highly recommend it though!

Plane landed on time 3pm ontario time and 9pm in Europe. Cleared customs with no problems, got my luggage and ran down to the shuttle. Was told I had to wait an hour for the next one so again I sat at another airport waiting hahahahaha.

Got in the shuttle and sitting already on was a student that graduated from St. Peter's, where I teach, this past year, Luch. He was a big figure with our student council. Far beyond his years intellectually. He was coming back from a four week trip to London to visit his uncle, a Neurosurgeon in England. He is now off to Carlton university.

Shuttled pulled up to my house and I was warmly greeted by Terry, Josh, Izzie and Teddy. House was spotless, even better then when I left and there were beautiful flowers and wine on the table to greet me. As Joan said to me on the day I left Sokna, "it's nice to go away but it's nice to go home".

I WILL be back!
