Alright, so begins another adventure!
I’m half asleep while writing this - I have come to the realization that pulling proper all-nighters is (ok, should be) a thing of the past lol… I am getting irritable with age 😉
I had a weird travel path this time ‘round: Toronto/Copenhagen/Dublin, but that ended nicely since I was left with a super long layover to explore Copenhagen for a bit. I really liked the city - gorgeous buildings and the history is just everywhere. Of course I had planned a few things I wanted to see, but in usual fashion I jumped off the metro on a whim and just roamed around aimlessly - the best way to get introduced to a city that is. Roaming, roaming, roaming.
My fav thing I happened upon was the #HappyWall. It’s this GIANT wall with multicoloured wooden plaques and hinges and the idea is to write something positive or something that makes you happy. Because everything is on a hinge, the messages can be hidden or shown and it’s really a statement piece of art. I couldn’t resist, I had to add my own two cents: “Live your life and have an adventure!”
#HappyWall
Coolest art idea ever. How very me.
Other than that, I saw the regular stuff in Copenhagen - lots of statues, parks and grand buildings. A lot of people spoke to me in Danish… we can safely add Denmark as another place I fit in as a local. Oh. And they had a random “Share a Coke” Day so there were people all over the city giving out free tiny cans of Coke. I won’t complain.
I was pretty tired when I made my way back to the airport - I managed to sleep for maybe an hour from Toronto to Copenhagen… so I was pretty far gone by this point lol. I did conk out on the flight from Copenhagen to Dublin at least.
(Sidenote: I love having a Canadian passport - Copenhagen didn’t even ask me how long I was staying/what I was doing, and Dublin just asked how long I’m staying. Bless.)
Arriving in Dublin was a beautiful thing - I know, I know it’s not the UK but it’s close enough that it still feels like I’m coming back home. It was a joyous moment to step back into a Tesco’s, let me tell you. I
even managed to look the proper way when crossing the street so I wouldn’t get flattened by a taxi. Life is good.
I didn’t do much tonight since I got in at 8pm. The guy at the hostel desk was really nice and we got to chatting about weather (ha, so stereotypical) and about how some of his friends are working in Canada right now. I like the random chats I have. Other than that, I just grabbed supper - a massive burrito that rivals any burrito I’ve ever had thank you - and that was that.

Shoes over cables
Is it just me or does it look like a giant toilet plunger beside the shoes?
