We traveled from Charlotte to Dandridge, TN today which was about 220 miles. It was a beautiful drive as everything in this area is so green and lush. We are staying at the same resort that our friends Reta and Jim stayed at in May called Anchor Down. It is right on Lake Douglas in Dandridge which is a tiny town outside of Seiverville. It is a beautiful park and has only been open for a short time. I have taken a few pictures to show you so you could see just how nice it is. Jim & Reta were right in steering us here. Thanks guys!

We drove to the little town of Dandridge on Tuesday which is like stepping back in time. We were told to go to Tinsley-Bible Pharmacy for lunch. It is an old, old soda fountain and pharmacy that is functioning today much like I imagine it functioned back in the day. The had a counter and then a few booths inside the store. We sat at a booth as there weren't 2 seats together at the counter. The special of the day was beans, greens, and corn bread. I passed on it and got a BLT and Don had the Bible Burger, which was a HUGE hamburger with all the trimmings. Both meals were great but as more and more people came in, which by the way, it seemed as though everyone knew everyone and they didn't need the menu, they all got the special. Well, we got to snooping and we missed the boat by not getting the special because you got fried potatoes (YUM!), a bowl of pinto beans and ham (YUM!), a bowl of greens and a fried corn bread cake which looked really yummy too. Not too sure about the greens but I was willing to try them. That meal was something my mom cooked when I was growing up. All was not lost because I did enjoy my BLT.

Heading to Dollywood tomorrow. Looking forward to that as we here there is a lot of good entertainment. Karlie is going to Barker Lounge for the day. Everyone will be happy! 😊
