Well that’s where I am… used to a lot more exercise than singing and clapping along in the campervan with the knee-hi’s and my body still on Africa time it’s really hard to settle down and sleep. Our bed is above the driver’s seat and I have drawn the curtain, hopefully I am not disturbing the rest of the family. If I do I’ll have to go and sit in the pub and who knows what that’ll bring. Just kidding.

We are at Curtin Springs; having passed thru Stuart’s Well Station and Erldunda. And I have just queued for my $3 shower. It’s been our longest travelling day and the latest start because we still had to collect the camper and go thru the handover lesson. This outback is so different from Western Australia which we experienced two years ago. The roads here are tarred, smooth, straight, have speed limits of up to 130km/hour compared to those where it was impossible to go more than 80 and even then it was dust eating, teeth rattling, bone jarring, suitcase destroying surface, strewn with road-kills, several roos per km. We

a hit with 6 year old Kylan
did however see cows today and an emu at a cattle station. In WA the loos are long drops, here we have waterflushing loos.

I did not expect the countryside to be so un-desert-y; it’s in fact very much like the eastern free state at its greenest back home. I will let the photos and their captions tell their tales. The boys were so good travelling today. We had such fun with them and at one stage I laughed so much it was touch n go to get to a bathroom in time.

Tomorrow we get to see Uluru, I think. Will it be what it cracked up to be? I’m pushing boundaries here now it the silently rhythmic snoring cabin, so signing off. It looks like internet is gonna be a problem for a while in order to publish these entries. XXX

Thanks for sharing...
Enjoying your blog very much. We were in the region a few years ago in March. It was incredibly hot then... and the flies!! Looks like you've gone at a better time of year. Look forward to your impressions of Uluru. We loved the sunrises and sunsets there most of all xxx
