SAFELY TIED UP AT OUR NEW MARINA

Jane and I finally spent our first night aboard the newly renamed M/V "No Particular Harbor". It was a rainy, stormy night, but we were snug and warm in the master stateroom. The gentle rocking in our slip felt familiar and quite comforting. There are still lots of boxes stacked in the salon, but we will find a place for everything eventually. If we don't, then we really must not need it! We hung some of our pictures and it is really starting to feel like home.

I brought the boat down from Deale, MD last week with the help of two good friends- Capt. Frog and Bill. We had a great trip with fair weather and managed to get tucked into home port before the tornados and high winds on Friday. We spent a night along the way in the cute Eastern Shore town of Onanacock, VA. Bill treated us to a fantastic meal at Biscotti's bistro, located right in the historic downtown which was an easy walk from the town dock. I would highly recommend the place if you travel thru the area. We

just happen to hit on half price wine night, so it was a bonus all around. The engines ran great, but there is still plenty to fix with some minor plumbing problems and the usual maintenance items.

Moving out of the condo we had rented for the last couple of months felt really good. I will not miss all those steps up to the second floor. Although we got plenty of exercise over the weekend hauling all of our belongings onboard the boat. The walk from the parking lot while pushing that damn dock cart kept getting longer and longer. They did have a great cookout and dock party going on Saturday afternoon so we got to meet all of our new neighbors and were able to relax late afternoon.

Our slip faces the west so, we will be able to enjoy a nice shady afternoon cocktail under the overhang on the back deck. We have a concrete bulkhead on the other side of our dock with a nice tall grassy slope. That way we will be protected from high winds and seas from the north and east. Buzz, our neighbor in the next

slip, says he has rode out two hurricanes right here at the dock. I doubt we would stay onboard during a major hurricane, but at least the boat should have a good chance here.
