My first Saturday night in Singapore was a success! I was invited by some classmates of mine from the Bangkok days to join them for their weekly dinner and drinks night. We ended up going to this really great mexican restaurant (you can take the girl out of Texas…..) called Lucha Loco, where one of my classmate's sister was a chef. The food was great, and the drinks were delish! I obviously had to order the house margarita (when in Rome) and then tried this amazing passionfruit cocktail. All in all, a great experience, company included. It felt like we were all old friends, even though I hadn't seen my classmates in over 16 years and I'd just met their friends, but they were all fun and friendly, and very welcoming. After dinner we went to this little hipster looking place that you'd have to know was there to find it…the door sort of melded with the surrounding wall and I didn't see it until it was open, very Narnia-ish. We were easily the loudest group there, and kept getting glares from the other people every time we had an outburst of laughter, but oh well! My fears of not having any friends outside of my host family and co-workers has been put to bed! It was a top night, and I'm looking forward to what they have in store for next week! Night night friends! Hope y'all have a great Saturday night back in Austin!
