His version of events....

It's 11:18pm on a Monday night, the girls are in bed and I'm writing this blog. Where's Lisa I hear you ask. Well, she's downstairs in the casino. Straight after dinner, no kiss goodnight, no goodbye to the girls, straight to a machine! Hmmm......

Her version of events......

After our dinner at the restaurant it was suggested that since I had not even looked at a poker machine since our arrival that maybe I should have a turn on one. I said my farewells in the restaurant before leaving the table, walked out of the door and straight to the first available machine within view of the restaurant. Apparently my Motherly duties were not to the satisfaction of Mr as I did not farewell him with a goodnight kiss. Funny that, I was only gonna be at the machines for about 30 mins or so, not into the wee hours of the morning...like some I know!!

Game was great, placed $5 in machine and after 35mins or so had more than tripled my money. Realised I was tired so finished game, took my receipt and rather than

cash it in I thought G may like to use it the next night, see the type of Wifey that I am....willing to give my winnings to hubby to lose....

Now he may continue...

The last time we left you I was trying to win our return airfare and I'd like to say that I did!! Even though I actually didn't. After wandering around sticking a few dollars into the machines I ended up on a table called Casino War. For those who remember the card nights it's Acey Duecey. And I still had the same type of luck! If you're gambling at the tables the waitresses take your drink orders and arrive with whatever you ask for, all free. A great benefit and very dangerous.

Then she said.....

Funny thing happened here in Vegas.... Not too sure if you remember in the blog titled" Take me out to the ball game", but a reference was made regarding my displeasure of being stuck in a hot bathroom for hours doing a heap of hand washing, while the rest of the family were lapping it up by the pool. During this encounter, mama

had a hissy fit and was TOLD....Don't worry about the washing!!!, Relax!!!Don't stress about it, Leave it til we get to Vegas and we can get it washed there!!! In the scheme of things, who cares about it!!!! We're on holidays, so let it go!!....Are ya following me here? Now, I am convinced I am married to a Comedian....After our first night here in Vegas I awoke at 8.10am to the sounds of Graham having an extremely LOOONG shower. Not quite sure what was happening I decided to investigate and found that multiple loads of underwear, socks and various other items were being laundered while he was showering. Apparently he had investigated the cost of having our washing laundered and after the shock wore off he decided to take it upon himself and sneakily do it without me knowing. Ha ha.... Caught out!! The minimum amount is $2.00 per item....yep that's per sock pair, nicker or undergarment, bra or handkerchief is $2.25 each and pj's $8.00 pair....you do not want to know the prices for outerwear....let's just say we will need to cash in an airfare if we decide to go ahead!!Now, considering he didn't mention he was gonna do the

laundering himself, I can only assume that he may have been feeling a little guilty for all the grief (unwarranted I would.d like to mention) he gave me at the time of my meltdown in LA, or it could simply be that he does't want to pay a ridiculous amount of money on laundering.Speaking of money, we must be rich. Graham and the girls checked their travel card account balances and were so shocked to see that they had more in their accounts than expected. It seems that no matter how much crap we buy, we just seem to have money left for more. We are certainly keeping the US economy going while on this holiday.

He said...

The day after me losing money at the tables & with me sporting a sore head we headed out to walk around the town.

Later on looking at a map it's amazing that we have only really seen two or so blocks, the casinos are just huge and cities in themselves. We bought vouchers to see a variety show and in the afternoon wanted to get the tickets, find the theatre, and have a bite to eat. We got to Planet Hollywood and...got lost! It was just immense. We finally found the theatre and decided to eat in the near vicinity so that we wouldn't get lost again. We had an early show. It wasn't a big budget extravaganza but was pretty good all the same and we all enjoyed it. After the show we decided to head over to the Stratosphere, a highrise hotel/casino with a huge tower of about 800 feet in the air. On the roof of the tower there are three rides, two that hang over the side and the Bigshot which is like the Batman ride at Movie World. It shoots about 100 ft in the air and remember that this is on top of an 800 foot building.

There was no way Lisa was going on it so the girls and I bought a ticket each. I may have mentioned at some point in the past that I'm no good with heights, the Lomdon Eye was great a few years ago...from the bench seat in the middle of the capsule! Once I stepped onto the roof of the Stratosphere and looked up at this thing there as no

way I was going on it. Call me yella if you like I don't care. This however didn't deter the girls and they were up the stairs to the ride in seconds. After a short wait they were strapped into their seats and shot up into the air in a millisecond! They were extremely brave. We don't know where they got their adventurous streak from because it clearly wasn't from their parents.

After a celebratory slice of pizza, and two large beers, it was off to bed. Vegas comes alive at night so we aren't getting to bed until late. The following day we had a bit of a sleep in, wandered around again then while Lisa spent a bit of time at the pokies the girls and I headed off to the pool. It was huge with the typical babes, brawn, and us (although that could have been us)! It even had the obligatory volleyball net. After a quick swim...and perve we dragged Lisa way from the pokies ( I used the rest of the credit voucher from my winnings, G didn't want to use it), had a quick snack and got changed ready for our

limo. Yes, a limo, the one that was going to take us to our helicopter. Our helicopter I hear you say. Yes the one that was going to fly us over Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon at Sunset.

We met two other young couples in the limo, one fom the UK and the other Ireland and were at the airport in no time. Our pilot introduced himself and we (plus the Irish couple) were strapped in and on our way. The pilot was informative, funny, and handsome (LVS-Oh yeah, always fancied a pilot) and the trip was breathtaking. Really, the Grand Canyon is exactly that, grand! However the view there and back was equally spectacular, the landscape is amazing. Later having dinner we talked about the experience and couldn't get the smile from our faces.

Up early on our last day in Vegas and it was time to shop! Around 10:00am we took a cab down to the Premium Outlets (south) which is filled with all types of retailers, including Gap, Converse, Reebok, Vans, etc. Our first mistake was not bringing an empty suitcase because by the end of the day we were all

carrying several bags each. We started at one end and went into every shop along one side until we got to the other end, then turned around and headed back down the other side. I was secretly dreading this part of the trip however once you get into the spirit of things it was actually quite a lot of fun. However, Lisa, this is a once only event. I'll be back to my grumpy ways when we get home and you want to go shopping! The girls each have a cash card and love getting them out and signing their names.

While we're talking about the girls they have been absolutely fantastic the whole trip. There have been lots of early starts and late nights however they have both accepted that this is how it is, at least until we get to Honolulu, and helped out whenever they can.

Charlize 11, has really come out of her shell being a cheeky little bugger and has provided is with lots of laughs, and attitude.... Scarlett 8, always was a cheeky little bugger and given her age it's great to see her still getting involved even

though we know how tired she must be at times. We've all had our moments however they are quickly forgotten and we have loved each other's company and enjoying these experiences together.

Today, Wednesday, we were up at a reasonable time (7:30) to check out and get to the airport to fly to New York. We used the kerbside check in again, this time with a tip and we were in the airport quickly. I resisted the urge to have one last go on the pokies at the departure lounge and we settled into our seats waiting for our flight to be called. While waiting the boarding pass lady was calling out asking for any volunteers to check their carry-on luggage due to it being a full flight. We couldn't believe the size of some of the bags people were trying to carry on. The lady was really good saying that if they the Airport staff thought a bag was too big they would check it immediately. There should be more of it!

So that was Vegas! What a city with lots more memories to add to our experiences!

Catch ya next time from The Big Apple!!
