Day two began at 9AM in the conference room with 2 presenters on air and trucking freight industry in Hong Kong. Two people came to speak to us from the Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong Council about building additional runways at the airport to sustain growth in this industry as airports in Guangdong and Shenzhen were their main competitors. Costs of transporting freight has risen due to the exceptional rising wages in Hong Kong. The next individual to speak was Frank Lavin, CEO of Export Now. I recommend you looking him up via Wikipedia and his CV will definitely stand out. His company transitions American products into China E-commerce and trade facilitation.

I know. That was the last boring part about this blog.

Our first company visit was Li & Fung, they source hard goods such as fashion accessories, furnishings, gifts, handicrafts, home products, promotional merchandise, toys, sporting goods and travel goods. They bring products to Walmart, Coach, Target, etc. (this is just a light version, but the company model is extremely complicated. I will save you all from the boredom). Unfortunately, because of company policy, I was not allowed to take any pictures of Li & Fung as they wanted to protect their trade secrets and the trade showrooms that I toured.

Our second company was the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Asia's second largest stock exchange in terms of market and 6th largest in the world. We got to stand in the viewing room and take pictures looking down at the trade hall. (see pictures) I definitely see myself working here if the opportunity came up.

Some friends and I decided to get some sushi and check out Ladies' Market which is a famous shopping district in Hong Kong. After bargaining with everyone and their mothers, we headed to a mall. (see pictures)

But not just any mall. A mall with TEN STORIES OF SHOPPING. I had to sit down as I was getting dizzy and I was searching for a dim sum place in the mall. I got my favorite dish "Xiao Long Bao". (see picture) These are a must try as they are just the best type of dumplings period.

You heard it from an Asian.

Off to bed as Day 3 is a 6AM wake up call as there is a 2 hour ride to Shenzhen via bullet train waiting for me. *SIGH
