Any one that knows me knows I'm not really one for celebrating birthdays! However I didn't have a choice this year!
On Friday after I baked peanut butter blondes for the office I walked into town to hire the sombreros for sat night. But Friday night was a trip up table mountain! We left Stellenbosch a little later than planned and meet friends at the base of the cable cars at 6:30.
It's half price after 6!!!!
Unfortunately, even though for the whole journey to cape town I had been telling everyone that the clouds would lift we arrived and you couldn't see the top!
But still we went up, armed with warm clothes and champagne!
There was no view to be had up there. It wasn't cold but the rain started to fall. Champagne corks popped and we chatted and pretended we could see camps bay and beyond.
We eventually retreated to the restaurant at the top, when we finished our drinks and were about to leave the siren went off to evacuate the mountain!!!
Saturday was Mexican night!
Sombreros and moustaches the dress code!
My menu, nachos to start, corn, done on the braai, with a Mexican sauce over, yummy and the fajitas
