The last day in Singaporehas been and gone. I feel a little sad 😞 Singaporeis def worth a visit in my opinion. We started the day with a singapore breakfast noodles in veg stock with a hotdog and egg on top, served with chopsticks can safely say i did not look pretty trying to eat it.We ate most of it and headed to Chinatown on the MRT im like an expert now. The sun was hot today, we walked round the market stalls i wanted a chinese lantern but wont fit in my backpack.Ill just order one from ebay when i get back.
We went to the chinese Hertitagemuseum was good but a little bit dark struggledreading the storys (must rememberim meant to wear glasses). one thing I did learn is that alot of Chinese things are red and this is because they believe it keeps evil away. See im getting cultural. We then walked to the merlion which is a fountain half lion and half mermaid. personally i think it should be called lionmaid. This is apparently Singapores icon to the rest of the world.Thelion head symbolises the legend of the discovery of singa pura(lion city) and the fish tail reminds of the ancient city of temasek and represents singapores humble beginningas a fishing village (arent i clever).
The plan for the night was to eat, this seems to be the theme here and go on the singaporeflyer (like the london eye). We had our first proper meal at a restaurant. daz is good with the chopsticks he can even pick up peanuts and dip them in a sauce n eat it now that is a talent.
We went on SIngapore flyer just at the right time when daylight turns to night was so pretty such a lovely city. Got some fab pics of bein up high.
I had seen on my map which i need to add is my new best friend, that there was a fountain of wealth now in my head i had vision of a lovely fountain where u throw money in and make a wish but was slightly disappointed to find a fountain in middle of a massive roundabout which you had to nearly die to get to it. wasnt quite worth my life. We searched for ages to find a bar, however have found this a difficult task. Found one eventually however 8 pound for a beer he is lucky i let him have two. On the way back we then noticed a bar which we had walked past loads of times...soannoyin.
back in hotel now backpack packed again for journey to Bangkok!
