After a mere four months living in Shanghai, it's time to move on again. The reasons for our departure are not going to be publicised on the internet but for any of you who gave us advice on moving here, it isn't because we don't like Shanghai or China. However, a new job awaits us in a whole new country and it's time to say goodbye to Shanghai.

Here are your best bits......

motorbikes held together with sellotape..... brown furry dogs (are they poodles?)....... *hurrrrockkk......* (the noise and pregnant pause before someone spits in the street)....... several small toffee apples on sticks....... babies in split crotch trousers so they can pee on the floor...... brown furry dogs in clothes...... old people shoving you out of the way on the metro...... electric bikes silently appearing behind you and then peeping you out of the way.....PM 2.5.......dogs in shoes....... xiaolongbao (dumplings)......towering skyscraper...... giant rockeries....... shengjianbao (dumplings again)...... smog....... "real music radio" that plays almost no music......clothes, including pants, drying in trees in the street...... xinjiang flat bread cooked in an oil drum oven...... congyoubing (spring onion pancakes)....... being cold inside...... people carrying babies...... rediculously priced beer..... bargain all-you-can-eat-and-drink nights...... cheap public transport......coats with animal ears and tails......signs giving advice that state the obvious.....Chinglish.....terrifying Pleasant Goat kids rides outside shops with sinister flashing eyes....vast railways stations as big as airports.....offices thick with cigarette smoke.....beautiful gardens.....museums full of pots (well it is called China)

This blog is largely illustrated, so check out the photos.
