Lunch at the Eiffel Tower
This is my favorite Paris Picture, hot dogs , fries and Ellie drinking wine from the bottle at the Eiffel Tower.. November 27th- after a great flight from Jersey Channel Island to Paris- we arrive at Charles G airport.. Run into a scam artist on our way to the taxi queue, then the long taxi drive in a cramped taxi to MontParsee part of Paris- don't ask me where that is- i am still confused myself, let's just say it is a taxi ride ( since Mom and Dad) would not have done well on buses or public transportation to any of the sights. The hotel was okay but not as good as the one's we stayed at in London and Jersey.
The hotel staff was okay but not as welcoming / friendly or helpful as the other locations. Then we find out that the main event, the reason we added Paris to our travel trip, the tour of Normandy does not run on Fridays in the winter, no tour groups run a tour to that location on fridays. My parent's were nervous in just taking the train to Normandy and then making our own way. Tried a few other options but was very expensive- so I feel bad, never made it to Normandy. We toured Paris. The architecture is amazing..
I have to say the city is beautiful especially at night with all the lights on.
Champ de elysee was impressive to see with the winter carnival stalls and all the lights- great views of the arc de truimph at night too and for all of you shoppers - it is paradise. Food was okay but wouldn't say it was the best I ever had.. Let's just say we eventually enjoyed our time there but Paris was not our favorite spot. Eiffel tower was great to see, and my favorite was we had to get hot dogs at the local stand- so I have Mom and Dad on a bench surrounded by pigeons eating hotdogs, fries and Mom drinking wine straight from the bottle (note: they did give her a plastic cup)... The bus tour was good to see all the specific tourist sights.
We met Leeann for dinner one night, which was great fun, so good to see her 😊 .. Some funny moments- Ellie could not get a Cabaranet in France ( go figure) so she was not a happy camper, Dad trying to figure out what was in the club sandwich with the waitress took
about 5 minutes and he still couldn't figure out what they were saying to him and his comment was who the hell makes a club sandwich with ham, bacon and egg??? The chocolate was delicious... Mom and Dad took a cruise on the river Siene- sorry a lot of graffiti but enjoyed themselves- they stopped and had some hot chocolate and warm wine. I was getting nervous since I let them go on their own. Watching them with the language barrier was entertaining.
We were all happy to say Au Voir to Paris. The train station is nothing to be impressed by either very old and dirty.. But we made it on to the eurostar train which by the way is not that timely we left late and pulled into london 20 minutes late. The best was we were all settled on the train and then a horde of Asian travelers came in and were like - I think you are in our seats we were in the wrong cart ( 15 not 16) so we get up and I thought my parents were behind me- NO for some reason the listened to the Asian man and headed the
wrong way towards cart 14- so I am in my correct seat wondering where the heck they are - then I see them climb back up on the train just before the doors closed- good grief- that would have been a classic if the train pulled away while they got off to figure out the cart numbers instead of just walking through the train.
The car service met us at St. pancras station in London, which is BEAUTIFUL!!! After a long walk to the car park - we were on our way to the hotel near Heathrow airport since I fly out today to Hong Kong.
Put mom and dad back in a car service to London- they are staying an extra 3 days.. They are off to Harrods when they check in to their hotel in London. God help London and I hope there are no international incidents while they are on their own - they end their tour on Dec 4th and head to Florida to harrass Debbie and Mike on their vacation down there 😊..
It was great trip and experience with my parents, so happy to see them and get to
spend time with them. Lots of laughs even through the aggravations Loved it.

Hilarious. Brightened up my day.
Really enjoyed your blog. So funny. You managed to include every cliché of a dumb American loose in Europe. And so clever to pepper the blog with grammatical boobs. Keep up the good work and you'll rival Ludwig Bemelmans.
