Our first full day in Lomé got off to a good start. After my last entry, we were walking down the main strip and saw a sign for another hotel. We checked it out and took it right away. It's a nice, quaint place owed by a French expat. Clean, quiet and friendly. Finally we can relax. After moving out of out first hotel, we wandered down to La Grande Marcheé, really almost the same as the one in Accra. We had a wonderful 3 course meal, where Barry ate a Pigeon (Yuck). But it was probably one of the best meals I have had since we arrived in Africa. I had a crème bruleé appetizer made with sundried tomatoes and fresh basil. mmmm...

This morning, he headed to La Marcheé des Fetisheurs... Or the Fettish Market. A Fettish Market is a traditional Voodoo Market, all I can say is whoa, wait until you see our pictures of this one... everything from monkey heads, to crocodile heads to bats, snakes and lion's mane. We had a tour guide who was very helpful. We even saw a Voodoo priest. It was actually very educational as our traditional views of Hollywood Voodooism are pretty skewed. In theory, Voodoo is actually all about positive spiritual energy. Not evil voodoo dolls - although I did pick one up 😊

But wow. That was WAAAYYYYYYYYY out there. Today is our last full day in Lomé. Early tomorrow, we cycle the 3km to the border crossing and then hop on a bus back to Accra. We leave Friday night; so will spend most of the time shopping for souvenirs.
