Arrived in Worcester on the 21 April (and I have been so slack that I haven't updated this until now!). Went to stay for an extended weekend with my friend Chris R.

Left Colchester about 10 o'clock with a bit of a stop on the way through London - Picadilly Circus, before catching the tube to Paddington Station to make my way accross the midlands to Worcester.

Arriving in Worcester I settled down into a austrailian pub (i know... you can slap me if you like) called Bush Wackers and had a pint, while waiting for Chris to finish work. We spent that night having dinner at a great Thai place and visiting a couple of bars, esp. one that had a covers band playing 70s rock! lots of zeppelin & cream. Kimmy heaven. Met Chris' flatmates, including one who couldn't go to the pub with us "because of capitalism".

Cruised into Birmingham the next day (thursday) by train following another attempt to order a flat white and ending up with yet another cappacino. Birmingham was nice - lots of shops, the town centre monument had a lot to be desired, as it stunk of algae.

On Friday we drove to North Wales - to the mountain region of Snowdonia. I really loved Wales and I am guessing that is because of its NZish landscapes. It had additional cute cottages, stone walls and wierd looking sheep.

We climbed Snowdon which is the highest peak in England and Wales, 1085m high. Unsure about how that comapres to NZ peaks. It was about a 4 hour return trip, although chris' estimate was "about 20 minutes each way" (he is a bad estimator). Very cold!!! esp compared to the sun and heat at the bottom of the mountain. Very windy!! I was concerned about being blown off. Lots of snow on top and these crazy seagulls (everything is crazy in wales). We had the cup of the best hot chocolate ever at the bottom - it was so warm!! Followed by the worst fish n' chips.

Arrived in the log cabin we were staying out in north wales near the mountain biking reserve of Coed Y Brenin. We were staying there with 4 of Chris' friends - all mountain biking enthuasists. The cabin was beautiful, but i neglected to take any photos.

The boys set off biking on saturday, I went for a walk to check out the countryside and sort of got lost trying to follow an old "walking track" i.e. bog. climbed a hill face which had magnificent views. Part of the kimmy track (after getting lost i made up my own walk) went through lots of farm land - a lot of sheep and big beef cattle. I did a bit of running to and mad yelling to detract the big male sheep with horns. They flashed me back to my childhood and being bunted by sheep, i didn't fancy it when the sheep had horns!!!

Saturday night was spent having bad chinese takeaways & playing who wants 'to be a millionare' playstation game that we found at the cabin, I got knocked out on the £200 question.

Spent Sunday on a lesirurely bike ride with Chris for a few hours - he discovered how much of a wimp it was when it came to going fast on dodgy tracks (the whole point of mountain biking). My excuse was seeing one too many compound fractures and head injuries.

Drove back to Worcester - then left for back to London on the train on monday to go to the football (this requires its own chapter).
