What a lazy easy day for us. We woke up to pouring rain and thunder. The lightening started soon after and the kids thought it was great. All day long it has done nothing but pour rain...I feel like I am on the Oregon Coast except that it isn’t as beautiful. We decided that Theo needed a jacket since he forgot his and headed to downtown Bar Harbor. We were lucky we made it there early as we came back later and it was wall to wall people. We were able to get him a hooded jacket and left for Acadia National Park. Our first stop was Sand Beach. The only sand beaches this far north on the eastern shore. We were being blown and rain was pelting us, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying it. If we had been at home we would have been prepared, but this time all we had was light jackets and shorts. The kids went in the ocean about knee high and said if it had been nice out, they would have gone swimming. It was definitely not as cold as the Oregon Coast, but not warm either. The sand was very dark and course and there were no shells or rocks. We found a few rocks and decided it was time to leave and head back to the room to dry off. After we dried off, we headed for town to get our Lobster Rolls for lunch. They of course were DEEELISH (and expensive) and we left headed for the outer part of the island. Now...my parents had decided they were going to head off a different direction this morning and do some exploring on their own. They had a nice lunch and went out to the lighthouse. We met back up later and prepared things for tomorrow while the kids went swimming. We have another long day tomorrow. We are headed for Fishkill, NY where Theo can go to the OCC Cafe. We are getting closer to our cabin in Tennessee where it is supposed to RAIN!!!!! Things better change!
