What a gorgeous morning in Madison. After an evening of thunder and lightning, the sky had cleared and the sun was shining. We got to chatting with Rodney over breakfast (James, this was a continental breakfast of mixed berries, yogurt, granola accompanied by some delicious freshly baked pastries and bagels). Rodney set us up with two bicycles and directions to Picnic Point on Lake Mendota. Who knew Jon was such a fitness god. He was the boss of that bike! It was such a nice ride and such a beautiful place we had capture the moment and snap some photos with the Dress. Rodney was a good sport and even ran to get some local amateur photographer who generally wanders around town taking pics to come along and snap a few of us. Lord knows what he'd want with them - maybe we'll be local celebs next time we pass through.

Around 12:00 we couldn't wait to be on the road again. It only took about 20 minutes before we were straight back into corn territory. The highlight of today's drive was being able to watch a storm brewing in the distance. Luckily, we skirted around it but the lightning show was impressive to watch and the sky was amazing - dark and foreboding on the horizon whilst the sun shined brightly on us. The other super entertaining part of any drive through Wisconsin are the billboards. You don't have to drive for very long before coming across a massive billboard sign advertising either a) cheese or b) porn. I'm tempted to dub Wisconsin as The Land of Cheese and Porn. Our personal favourite was the Adult Bakery where you can grab a bite and a ______.

By late afternoon, we were in Minn-E-Apolis.

No offence to Minneapolites - but it kinda felt like Chicago's step sister. I was expecting something different and was surprised. Anyway, we checked into the W Foshay to dump our stuff before heading straight to a bar. The concierge recommended Union on Hennepin Ave and sold us on the roof top beer garden. Turns out it serves amazing cocktails, micro brews and food! So we stayed for a few drinks and dinner (James, we shared an appetiser of Lamb Meatballs with olive, parsley, feta and zucchini followed by a Caesar Salad with a soft boiled egg for me and Crispy
