Large Homes
Thousand Islands We had a lovely day on the water yesterday.
We traveled for 10 hours and covered 85 miles including transiting through three locks. We had a two knot current pushing us so that helped our speed. Not too much wait time, 40 minute at the Iroquois lock, a half hour at the Eisenhower lock but the doors were open and waiting for us at the Snell lock. It was 7:00 PM so we were happy to be breezing through. We tied up at the Pleasure Craft dock at the bottom of the lock for the night. Nice and peaceful only one ship came through in the night. I could not blog because my Canadian Service Provider does not work in the US. Our cell phone was not available either, we should be back in communication tonight.
The scenery through the Thousand Island is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous big homes and castle like mansions. We were fortunate to see the Tall Ships fleet sail past us as they came out of Brockville on their way to Alexandria Bay. They were motoring since winds were light. What a great parade! We even saw the Fair Jeanne, Peggy! The traffic is light,
we only encountered two freighter ships.
The wildlife increased with swans, mergansers and their brood, kingfishers, blue herons, loons and of course cormorants. We even had a beaver visit us while we were at the dock. The weather is improving with only a short light rain and partly sunny skies.
All is going well and we are enjoying the peaceful cruising life once again.

Such a Life!
Great pics today of those marvellous houses and the tall ships. Can't "save" any pics though....they come up blank. Will have to get a few when you get back to NL. Smooth sailing. Love, R
