Coca Cola
What wouldn't I give to have shares in this company, judging by the quantities the indigenous population drink, they must be their best customers.
I thought the Chileans were heavy on Coke but methinks that the Mexicans have them beaten.
The kids look poor an bereft and still they wander around sipping coke and eating sweet wafers and other unhealthy stuff.
Still Creel is a nice little town with nothing really to do, it only has a station for the Chepe, a train that goes through the mountains from Chihuahua in the inland down to Los Mochis on the west coast, supposedly a very nice ride.
I did a little bit of it, going back from the Copper Canyon view point, El Divisadero.
The Canyon is mighty as anything but I'll stay with Grand Canyon as being the best so far.
The visibility from high up is not as good as in G C there is like a mist that prevented me from seeing clearly.
Well, another box ticked.
Next stop was Guacochi at thye other end of the canyon where I might consider going down into the canyon itself.
The sight of a girl selling fresh fruit stopped me cold and I sat down for a mug of mango and a rest.
A chap walks by and I ask him for directions and he tells me to come by his shop down the street and that he'd help me out.
He got me a hotel room, a free beer. and then asked me if I'd help him watering something or other out on their farm.
i did not have any pressing engagements so I went with him.
That farm looked like a scrap metal dealer's wet dream or a junk yard ditto.
We were soon joined by 5 other cahps that worked for some FAO affiliated organisation and the thing they want to see was what were going to water.
This bloke,Marin, grew worms, to be used as compost worm or actual chicken feed.
The FAO brought beer for every one, lots of it, including me.
So we watered the worm farm and irrigated ourselves with beer they were of course astounded to find a Swede on a motor bike touring Mexico.
Loads of laughs and then time for bed.
Next morning I checked out the road down to Batopilas at the bottom of the Canyon and decided that I would not do it alone, wrong tires, loads of bull dust had the bike slithering here and there so I chickened out and went to Parral next stop before Durango.
Parral was where they killed Pancho Villa, one of Mexico's heroes.
Probably the towns only shot at fame.
I even took the local sight seeing tour and learned a bit more about Parral, the guide was nice.
Next day onwards to Durango, this road has the mother of all straights, about 100 km.
But a bit of a landscape around, anyway lots better than the desert.
Durango turned out to be a pleasant surprise with a nice colonial center.
Nice hotel with breakfast included in adecent price and a garage for da bike.
I like colonial towns, beautiful buildings and stuff to look at and loads of people out in the evening strolling around the Plaza de Armas, no one shouting or screaming. Kids parents grannies in wheel chairs and every body and their auntie and me.
Nice temperature and a good meal in a nice restaurant that looked more expensive than it was and I was their only customer, bad night for them and good service for me.

And a couple of Margaritas to kill of the germs.
Hung around another day and mooched about, doing a sight seeing tour as well.

There was a couple of groups doing folkloric dances in the street, pedestrian, and a lovely little girl about 7 years old or so who bwas a bit annoyde with her partner a boy of the same age or so who was not really into it as she was.

I judge the them ages wise from relative size but then again all Mexicans would be about 12 years old compared to me.

No KTM at all. Good for the carbon foot print.
