Ready or not, we leave for our summer trip in 5 days. I still do not know what we will be doing, which is so unusual for me. I am a planner - usually planning every detail of each day so that I can get the most out of a trip. I always think that I will not likely come to this part of the country again, so I better get the most out of it that I can and see as much as I can regardless of how tired it makes me (or the rest of the family). After all, this is probably a once in a lifetime experience. But this year, the trip is a bit different. My husband has to travel to San Jose for a business trip so we decided the whole family could go, adding a couple of days making it our summer vacation.

Our plans so far: fly into San Francisco and go straight to the hotel for it will be late. Get up the next day and drive into Yosemite spending 2 nights. Then we will drive to San Jose for that is where the conference is. We will spend 4 nights there before beading back home. We plan to see the major highlights in Yosemite and I plan to take the kids up to an observatory in the mountains, to the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz and drive up the coast a bit. But that is as far as I have gotten with my planning. I have 4 more days and the 5 hour flight to figure it all out. But regardless of how much or how little I plan before hand, the trip will be awesome, filled with sights and scenery that will leave us in awe.

Ready or not, we are going. Ready or not, we leave in 5 days. Ready or not, we will love every minute of it.
